Non è molto chiaro quello che vuoi fare (almeno per me). Presumo che:
1. Hai già un home page in HTML
2. Vuoi usarlo in Drupal
In tal caso, il modo abbastranza indolore per chi conosce l'HTML è di creare un template page-front.tpl.php e mettere l'HTML dentro. In alternativo ci sono dei moduli tipo Front Page
